I am an applied mathematician interested in developing and using mathematical methods for real-world problems, particularly in the biotechnology and energy sector. I have applied modelling, numerical simulation and optimisation technologies to a wide variety of problems and disciplines: ranging from microfluidic biosensors over diesel engines to carbon capture and more recently to thermal energy storage.
It is my ambition to develop innovative teaching and research programs bridging the gap between applications and advanced mathematics. This goal can only be achieved by working in close collaboration with industry, academics and policy makers. I am looking for new and stimulating collaborations across subject boundaries.
