Description
Online roundtable with invited speakers. Description by the organiser:Greece is witnessing its first wave of #metoo. We are shocked and emotionally strained, by the daily revelations of gendered abuse and sexual violence in the field of art and culture at large in Greece. Gendered violence permeates and affects the daily lives of womXn and LGBTQIA+ individuals in the country, as a result of the repressive societal systems set up by patriarchy. In the field of culture, it is normalised through processes of aestheticization or "creative methodology" and is embodied in representations of "artistic genius".
State of Concept firmly believes that we can envision culture beyond sexist behaviour, violence and abuse of power, where subjectivities will create and express themselves without fear or shame, and wishes that #metoo will spread in other professional fields. We invite you to an online discussion organised in collaboration with Rosa Luxemburg Foundation.
