Description
This conference will explore evolving approaches to mental well-being (MWB) within higher education, focusing on innovative strategies and practices that enhance the wellbeing of both staff and students. The conference will include contributions that address the challenges and complexities of mental health in education, including institutional responses to reasonable adjustments, crisis management, and trauma-informed pedagogies.This event will provide a supportive and inclusive environment for all delegates, particularly for first-time presenters, to share their research and innovations in a welcoming setting.
The Mental Wellbeing in HE 2025 conference will focus on Reimagining the Narrative and Practice Around Mental Wellbeing for Staff and Students, with the following sub-themes:
(i) Mental Wellbeing Practices for Staff
This theme will explore institutional strategies for supporting the mental well-being of staff in higher education. Included topics may be:
- Approaches to fostering mental resilience among faculty and staff.
- Wellbeing support frameworks in high-pressure academic environments.
- Developing supportive institutional cultures for staff wellbeing.
- Case studies of successful staff mental wellbeing initiatives.
(ii) Mental Wellbeing, Reasonable Adjustments, and Competency Standards
This theme examines how mental well-being intersects with competency frameworks and the provision of reasonable adjustments for students and staff. Included topics may be:
