This event is co-hosted by Collective with The Global Contemporary Research GroupAnnette Krauss works as an artist, writer, educator. In her conceptual-based practice she addresses the intersection of art, politics and everyday life. Her artistic work emerges through the intersection of different media, such as performance, video, historical and everyday research, pedagogy and texts. Krauss has (co-)initiated various long-term collaborative practices (Hidden Curriculum / Sites for Unlearning / Read-in / ASK! / Read the Masks. Tradition is Not Given / School of Temporalities.) These projects reflect and build upon the potential of collaborative practices while aiming at disrupting taken for granted “truths” in theory and practice.
Recent collaborations/exhibitions/ lectures/screenings/workshops took place at Casco – Office for Art, Design and Theory, Utrecht; KUNCI, Cultural Studies Center, Yogyakarta; The Showroom London; Van Abbemuseum Einhoven; Kunstverein Wiesbaden; Whitechapel Gallery; Kunstverein Heidelberg 2012; SMBA, Stedelijk Bureau Amsterdam; Pratt Gallery, New York; Lewis Glucksman Gallery, Cork; ifa-gallery Berlin; bak, basis voor actuele kunst Utrecht. –– Since 2011 Krauss is lecturer at HKU Fine Art, Utrecht. Currently, she holds a Post-Doc position at Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna.
