A one day symposium studying the structural crises riveting through Athenian society and affecting the urban space, its organisation, and its appropriation. The symposium comprised of three keynote talks by Professor Lila Leontidou (Hellenic Open University), Dr Stavros Stavrides (National Technical University of Athens) and Dr Maria Theodorou (University of Leeds). Together with the symposium, there was the book launch of "Remapping 'Crisis'", Zero Books 2014) presented by the book editors Dr Myrto Tsilimpounidi (University of Lincoln) and Ally Walsh (University of East London). The symposium was sponsored by the Global Justice Academy, ESALA and ESALA Research Seminar Series while the book launch by the Cultural Studies Programme.
