Description

Bòrd na Gàidhlig is the non-departmental public body responsible for the promotion of Gaelic in Scotland, with an annual budget of c. £5 million. Following a competitive application process, I was appointed to the Board by Alasdair Allan, Minister for Learning, Science and Scotland’s
Languages, in recognition of my expertise in research and teaching in the field of Gaelic education and of my expertise in language policy and planning in the Scottish and Welsh contexts. This role was undertaken in parallel with full-time work at the University of Edinburgh, with Bòrd na Gàidhlig work days taken as holiday from my University role.
