Description

"Being human: Visualising voices"Screening of film and panel discussion re. "visualising voices" in film of those with serious illnesses

As part of the first National Festival of Humanities, led by the School of Advanced Study (London) and hosted by (I)ASH of Edinburgh University and the Museum of Scotland, This event explores how documentary film-making can help people with serious, often terminal illnesses, to find and to articulate their own voices, making those voices heard in new ways.We screened " I am breathing" as part of it and then followed a panel discussion with other film professionals and curators which included a rigorous analysis of the process of not just conceiving, filming and editing a documentary film, but of distributing and marketing them too.
