Description
Jimmy Turner, Marisa de Andrade (Binks Hub co-director) and Binks Hub PhD network member Wren Wilson planned this workshop on artistic/creative participatory mapping with artist Luke Beech. Luke is a young Queer artist with a focus on gender. sexuality, and mental health and is one of the founders of an independent radical art school in Hull called the Feral Art School. The workshop focused on:
Participatory approaches to mapping artistically for researchers (academic and otherwise) who are interested in incorporating artistic practices to their research, and are interested in mapping/spatiality. We aimed for participants to gain ideas about how they might incorporate this kind of approach into their work, with an emphasis on practicality and working with limited/common resources and in non-specialist spaces.
