Dr Nini Fang will be talking about The Yellow Abject: Living and (not) settling as a east asian woman in the anglosphere. She is a lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Edinburgh. Originally from Taiwan, her work foregrounds lived experiences, examining how the socio-political bears upon the personal-subjective in the everyday. She is a Scholar of the British Psychoanalytic Council and sits on the Executive Board for the Association for Psychosocial Studies, the Editorial Board for New Associations (British Psychoanalytic Council). She is also the Associate Director for the Centre of Creative-Relational Inquiry (UoE).

Kannan Navaratnem is a psychoanalyst in private practice and a member of the Institute of Psychoanalysis, London and the British Psychoanalytical Society. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the UCL Psychoanalysis Unit and teaches at the Tavistock Clinic, the Institute of Psychoanalysis, the British Psychoanalytic Association, the British Psychotherapy Foundation, and in China. He has written about, and presented clinical work on, self, identity, migration and trauma as well as culture, race and language.
