Career options seminar

Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesProfessional Development and Training

Description

The Career Development Committee is organising a series of informal talks from recent postgraduate students and postdocs who have moved on to careers where their research skills are valuable but are not in academic research. PhD students and postdocs often find working out how to make this move challenging and the guest speakers will talk about their careers to date, how they decided that they did not want to have an academic career, how they made the move to their new career and broader aspects of their particular sector.
The first speakers are Dr. Lucy Freem, now an assistant statistician with the Scottish Government and Dr. Brendan Duggan, Breeding Programme Geneticist at Aviagen, a poultry breeding company.
