A lecture on the work of Qiu Zhijie by Charles Esche, Director of the Van Abbemuseum in The Netherlands. Having staged the first comprehensive overview of Qiu’s work at the Van Abbemuseum in 2017, including the acquisition of several of his works into the collection and an associated publication, Charles Esche is uniquely positioned to explore the remarkable practice of one of the most important Chinese artists of his generation.
