Child rights-based indicators: An approach to developing indicators for the CRC

The Observatory of Children's Human Rights Scotland hosted international expert, Dr Roberta Ruggiero from the Université de Genève, to give a presentation as part of a small in-person think tank meeting on 5 December 2024. Dr Ruggiero is part of an international team developing a set of indicators to measure children’s human rights, the GlobalChild team. Scottish Government colleagues and civil society organisations who are working on indicators for children’s rights were invited to this meeting, where they heard from Dr Ruggiero on the indicator set being developed, and drew from her expertise in applying her knowledge to the Scottish context.
The Observatory organised a further meeting on 9 January 2025, with the Chilean Child Commissioner, Dr Ruggiero and relevant colleagues across Scotland. This second meeting allowed us to share knowledge and experience with Chilean colleagues and draw common learning.
