China-UK summer school : the governance and regulation of emerging biotechnologies

Description

This capacity building event for postgraduate and early career social science and policy researchers was organised in collaboration with the Institute of Policy and Management of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS-IPM). It was held at the CAS-IPM campus in Beijing as part of RCUK China Office’s summer school programme to promote understanding between researchers from China and the UK and to build capacity for the advancement of collaborative research. The Summer School was co-funded by the RCUK China Office and CAS, with additional funding from the EGN. Chinese students came from a range of leading Chinese institutions, including CAS, Peking University, University of Science and Technology of China, Peking Union Medical College, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Agriculture Sciences. UK students were members of the EGN. This event was organised by ESRC Genomics Policy and Research Forum; Institute of Policy and Management of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
