Year-long working group organized by SNIFFER and ClimateReady Clyde inviting local and national stakeholders on climate change adaptation and investment.At present, funding and finance for adaptation in Scotland is limited as is adaptation activity in Scotland’s financial sector. Increasing financial flows into adaptation is crucial to deliver a step change in adaptation action in Scotland. There are several challenges restricting access to adaptation finance. These include the lack of established processes for public bodies to use in evaluating finance options for adaptation projects, limited capacity, knowledge and skills of actors across finance and adaptation sectors, lack of systemic response and large scale of project pipelines required which may be unprecedented for many institutions. This Expert Working Group aims to identify and overcome such barriers to adaptation funding and finance in Scotland.
