Description
Stem cell science raises difficult moral issues, but societies are largely unprepared for integrating the moral perspectives of citizens into workable public policy for this science. In this workshop participants reflected most broadly on the oversight of stem cell science by citizens in advanced Western democracies. Examining a number of different nations, including Britain, Germany, India and the United States, participants reflected on the various challenges to effective oversight, including the limitations of public consultations and public bioethical debate.Period | 25 Jul 2007 |
