Description

Myself Zoë Walker & Neil Bromwich ( my collaborator ) and Artists Rajni Shah talked on a panel - Chaired by Ilana Mitchell, Creative Director, Wunderbar Festival. Hosted by BALTIC and GemArts, this event explored where some of the boundaries exist for artists working in participatory settings and the influence of the context on artistic practice. This event was funded my The Paul Hamlyn foundation as part of a program of talks across the UK exploring participatory practice through the work of lead practitioners in the field. BALTIC is one of 10 regional, cultural partners, working with Sunderland University to raise the standard of arts-led experiences by improving the quality and understanding of what is required from artists in participatory projects. Drawing on outcomes from subject specific focus groups, peer learning programmes and critical conversations, the initiative will work by improving the training and continuing professional development infrastructure in higher education institutions and arts organisations.
