This event is part of Mini MAXXI: Radical Conversation on Material Culture, a guest seminar series designed to turn COVID limitations on learning and knowledge exchange into innovative engagement opportunities for everyone. It is linked to the Italy by Design postgraduate course at the University of Edinburgh, but is open to all, and sits within the DRSS DELC Research Seminar Series.Italy by Design is a practice-led Vertically Integrated Programme open to all students eligible for level 10 and 11 study at Edinburgh. Combining key concepts in Material and Intermedial Studies with innovative practice-led course delivery formats, the course looks at the art of cultural transmission through artefactual materiality since Leonardo and the Renaissance. Its particular focus is on cultural production and commodification in the modern period. Students share in the cocreation of the course, taking coleading and coproduction roles, including in the co-ordination of our Guest Seminar Series Mini MAXXI.
