The theme of this next session is Employability and Language teaching:The purpose of the session is to reflect on employability in relation to our language teaching and our languages degrees: how can employability skills best be embedded in our courses? How central are language skills to our students' future employability, and what can we do to enhance this, through course development, curricular or extra-curricular projects and opportunities?
We are pleased to announce the following presentations, which as usual will be used as a springboard for exchanging ideas on learning activities, assessment formats and curriculum development:
- Language teaching – influencing employability from day 1, Kirsti Ferrier (Careers Consultant for LLC)
- Developing employability skills as part of the B2 CEFR level acquistion in Year 2 language courses, Emmanuelle Lacore-Martin (French and Francophone Studies) & Carlos Soler Montes (Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies)
-Boosting language skills and employability: curricular and co-curricular course development options, Annette Götzkes (German Studies)
- Expanding opportunities: combining student’s knowledge about film industry and language learning, Marian A. Aréchaga (Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies), Harriet Bunnett (French and Spanish MA Hons student) & Nina Butslova (Spanish and History MA Hons student).
