Description

Invited Talk for ECA Context Symposium Series called ‘Studio Showcase - Sites and Spaces'. This series of cross-disciplinary events was designed to bring together the research being conducted by studio staff from a variety departments in order to make interesting and unexpected connections between the work for staff and students alike. My presentation argued, through provocative fashion imagery, that the human body is the ultimate ‘site’ and ‘space’. I communicated the need for new territories of educational language about ‘our site – the body’, and argued for the need for a global recognition and commitment to improving the self-esteem of consumers through more emotionally considerate design, marketing and branding.
