Edinburgh is the UK's second diplomatic base after London. The Edinburgh Consular Corps offers an excellent platform of civic and governmental influence to build international collaboration and business opportunities, not only through the Consulates located in Edinburgh, but with their related Embassies in London. Edinburgh hosts many ambassadorial visits and delegations as a result of this extensive network, which provides opportunities for Edinburgh organisations to seek support with promoting student/academic exchange, scientific business opportunities, access to international research programmes, venture capital, etc.
The group of consulars visited the School of Informatics, Edinburgh BioQuarter and The Roslin Institute.
