This event, The Science Behind Happy Couples, was an audience-interactive, choose-your-own-adventure style in-person event at the 2023 Edinburgh Science Festival. The event involved an audience-interactive film about navigating conflict relationships with branching storylines, a brief presentation about the science behind happy couples by Dr Sarah Stanton, and a Q+A and discussion period with the audience. The event sold out (80 tickets).

This event was of interest to any members of the general public aged 14 and up. Attendees learned about important, evidence-based aspects of happy relationships and how to constructively manage conflict in relationships and had opportunities to ask questions of an established expert.

The film portion of the event involved collaborations with screenwriter Zoe Robertson and actors Emma Lindsey and Isaac Wilson.
