Description

"Dealing in Slaves in Eighteenth-Century Scotland" Abstract: There was a small market in slaves in Eighteenth-Century Scotland. This paper dealt with the evidence for it, exploring how it operated in a legal system in which slavery was neither explicitly forbidden nor explicitly permitted. Examination of the evidence throws light on the operation of slavery in eighteenth-century Scotland.
