Description

Decarbonising road transport is the major challenge for the global automotive industry. Whether it is further improving the efficiency of internal combustion engines, adopting new technologies based in renewable fuels or the implementation of electrical vehicles, new technical breakthroughs are required.
Electrochemical Engineering is a multidisciplinary field that can provide different solutions to the challenges faced in these applications: novel functional materials for more efficient engines; production and/or use of renewable fuels (e.g. fuel cells); and more efficient energy storage for electric vehicles (e.g. batteries). This presentation will introduce some of the work conducted at e3Group (www.edinburghelectrochemicalengineering.com) on these topics.
