European Week of Regions & Cities 2017

Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesPublic Engagement – Festival/Exhibition

Description

This was the first showing of the MMP exhibition beyond the UK, where it toured three Scottish cities as part of Scotland's Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design 2016 and to the House of Lords in London in January 2017. It took place at Scotland House (home of Scotland in Europe) in Brussels in October 2017 as part of 'Health at the Heart of the Urban Development Strategy', a European Week of Regions and Cities fringe event organised by the City of Utrecht. At this same event, another MMP output - The A-Z of Co-Design - was launched as a desktop calendar in English and French (Spanish also available), and given to all delegates together with an illustrated, 32-page guide to the 13 key things uncovered through MMP's co-design process about older people's needs and preferences for age-friendly environments. Together with the participation of Professor Catharine Ward Thompson (MMP PI) in the event's panel discussion, and associated activities with the Covenant on Demographic Change and the City of Utrecht, these activities have led to findings from MMP being fed into the European Union Committee of the Regions' emerging EU Urban Agenda.
