Description

As part of the BoneAHEAD EU consortium, we identified the need for an international academic society with a focus on bone marrow adiposity. This idea was proposed as long ago as August 2015, and further discussed and refined at subsequent meetings of the BoneAHEAD consortium. During the 2017 Bone Marrow Adiposity conference in Lausanne (BMA2017), the basis for this society was discussed and voted on. It was decided to establish this society as the BMAS (Bone Marrow Adiposity Society). I was elected Secretary and a member of the Executive Board.
