The event continues to reflect the current QAA Enhancement Theme of Student Transitions and it isorganised by the Student Induction Team with support from Academic Services. Aims This day-long event brings together staff and students from across the University of Edinburgh, EUSA and external colleagues from various other Higher Education Institutions to discuss and share approaches and experiences relating to student transitions. Attendees had the opportunity to: Network with other academic and support staff also tasked with delivering and enhancing induction and transition activities Share good practice Hear the experience of students from our Student Panel Hear what has been happening across the University in relation to the QAA theme of Student Transitions Conference Themes This 2-16 conference's themes were: Transitions into University. This includes the pre-arrival stage, on arrival, Welcome Week, new student induction and the first year of academic study. Transitions during the period of study. Students experience on-going transitions while progressing through their studies, including between years for example, transitioning to honours level study. Transitions into and on return from placements and periods of study abroad can also be included. Transitions out of University. This can include transitions to further study as well as to employment or other activities. Resilience. This can include activities or initiatives which help support students to actively manage their transitions through developing resilience
