Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesParticipation in conference

An international multidisciplinary conference which aimed to explore new approaches to British-Russian cultural communication in the age of globalisation. In addition to the keynote talk (Prof Hurchings, Manchester) and several academic sessions, the conference had a strong knowledge transfer agenda and included two roundtables with practitioners from culture industries directly involved in the process of mutual representation of the British and the Russians through literature, theatre, photography, cinema and design. The conference also had a cultural community engagement element as it started with a concert of Russkaia Capella, a Scottish choir specialising on Russian church music. 300 people attended the concert held in the University's Reid Hall.
