'Minorities and Migrants: Citizenship Policies and Political Participation'. Abstract: This presentation presents the results of the research carried out within the framework of the CITSEE Project: The Europeanisation of Citizenship in the Successor States of the Former Yugoslavia, focusing on the intersection between dual citizenship regulations in the seven states now to be found in the territory of the former Yugoslavia and measures relating to political participation in relation to two key questions: the participation of minority groups and the participation of non-resident citizens. The argument will suggest that political elites have managed the definition of the demos in order to reinforce electoral advantage. The presentation draws heavily on the work of the CITSEE team whose contribution will be fully acknowledged.
