Description

Her Figure a Song is a new piece of performance by Rebecca Collins and Johanna Linsley. Part experimental documentary, part eco-fable, part detective thriller, the piece stages an extended eavesdropped investigation of the East Coast of the UK. Her Figure a Song listens in on political, social and cultural dynamics; industries and infrastructures; contested histories and futures that are under negotiation. The 50-minute long piece combines spoken text, recorded sound, vocalisation and choreography. Complex ideas and dynamics are balanced by deadpan humour, a sense of unpredictability and a dramaturgy of surprise.

The premier will feature at Granite Noir Literature Festival, Aberdeen Performing Arts

The evening gets darker still as we present a special Granite Noir commission - Deep Noir. Late at night in the dimly lit bar, a mysterious stranger - who's strangely familiar - is about to let you in on a little secret... Artists Johanna Linsley and Rebecca Collins work from the noir potential of the after hours bar to foster unexpected conversations and performances. The event might also include eavesdropping, illicit encounters and the occasional red herring.
