DescriptionSeminar: Educational attainment and inequality in Scotland
This seminar is aimed at policy makers, politicians, local authorities, educational practitioners and academics. It will examine issues such as the performance of school children in Scotland in light of international comparisons, inequality in educational outcomes, the potential impact of Curriculum for Excellence, and whether Scotland’s system of one year Highers discourages pupils from staying on at school. It will also consider the implications of educational inequalities for higher education and actions universities and colleges can take to promote greater equality in HE participation.
