Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesPublic Engagement – Public lecture/debate/seminar

Description

As interdisciplinary team of artists and researchers, led by Christine Ellison, engaged participants in the co-creation of a ‘post-digital performance event’. Fluxus scores borrowed from the Bonotto collection of experimental scores and concrete poetry became points of departure to reclaim the body in a digital age. In applied workshops the body was positioned as central to language and interaction. Methods based on somatics, improvisation and intermedia composition were used to re-imagine commands and signs from the interface as prompts for physical gesture; ‘making strange’ of the ordinary. The research culminated in a new performance presented to a public audience at Ridotto Rimondini, Bassano Del Grappa (IT).
