Dutch documentaries have always occupied an important position at the festival. Since 2009, IDFA has presented the IDFA Award for Dutch Documentary to highlight this connection. A five-member international jury evaluates the films. The award, supported by the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, consists of a sculpture and a cash prize of €5,000.
