Description

The Summer School will be organised as a three day event. The programme will feature morning lectures by a distinguished panel of international experts in the field of political settlements, peace- and state-building and peace processes, and ‘measurement and evaluation’. There will be opportunity to discuss these contributions, before participants present their own work (academic or practice dilemmas) in the afternoon sessions. This will receive critical feedback from the Summer School Faculty and other participants. Day one will discuss concepts and approaches to the post-conflict political settlement. Day two will focus on inclusivity, with particular emphasis on the role of norms and gender. Day three will deal with the issues of evaluation and measurement of the transformation of political settlements. To facilitate a lively and enriching discussion, all participants are expected to share their written papers a week before the start of the Summer School. A detailed programme of all the sessions and speakers will be published in early 2016.
