Description
This one-day workshop was dedicated to the subject of 'bodily fluids in the arts'. As one of the invited speakers, my contribution explored the relationship of cinema spectators to representations of bodily fluids (in particular, blood and vomit), focusing in particular on the experience of disgust and the threat of infection. Mainstream cinema depictions of bodily fluids were compared and contrasted with examples from the realm of experimental film (including Martin Creed and Kurt Kren).
