Description
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development co-sponsored the conference on ‘Innovative solutions for refugees’ organised by Ashoka Turkey, a civil society organisation that runs the largest worldwide network of social entrepreneurs. The event aimed to showcase the work of social entrepreneurs engaged in the refugee response in Turkey and abroad and to match social business ideas with the investor community. The conference entailed six workshops with social entrepreneurs who work in the areas of entrepreneurship and economic integration, early education, youth and higher education, technology, women’s empowerment and employment, and empowering civic initiatives. I was invited to talk about my experience of doing research with refugees in Athens and running a collective pop-up kitchen, Options FoodLab.Period | 14 Jun 2016 |
