Description
Invited to give talk/be on panel at event in 2017 to mark the 70th anniversary of the International Festival and 250th Anniversary of the New Town of Edinburgh. To recognise these anniversaries the Edinburgh International Festival joined forces with The Royal Society of Edinburgh to organise a discussion event in association with The Times. The invited panel of speakers explored these anniversaries, attitudes and the buildings that help to make Edinburgh an internationally renowned festival city. The other panellists were:• Professor John Wallace CBE, FRSE. Former Principal, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
• Dr Magnus Linklater CBE, FRSE. Former Editor, The Scotsman; Former Scottish Editor, The Times.
• Professor Christopher Hall FREng, FRSE. Curator, the RSE; Professor Emeritus and Senior Professorial Fellow, University of Edinburgh.
• Mr Hugh Buchanan. Artist with a detailed insight into the New Town.
