The JBS Haldane Lecture will recognise an individual for outstanding ability to communicate topical subjects in genetics research, widely interpreted, to an interested lay audience. This speaker will have a flair for conveying the relevance and excitement of recent advances in genetics in an informative and engaging way. Aoife McLysaght is a Professor of Genetics in Trinity College Dublin. Aoife's lecture, "Evolution: New genes from scratch", will take place on Tuesday 8 November, 7.00 - 8.30 pm, at the Royal Institution of Great Britain, London.
