Description

The Political Settlements Research Programme, the Austrian Study Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution and the Rift Valley Institute hosted a Joint Analysis Workshop on local peace processes in Nairobi, Kenya. The workshop brought together leading researchers, peace-builders, mediators, and representatives from the United Nations, the UK Department for International Development, the Intergovernmental Authority on Development, the London School of Economics Conflict Research Programme, and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Speakers included practitioners working within and to support local peace processes in Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia, South Sudan. A report of findings from this workshop and an earlier Joint Analysis Workshop held in London will be published with the British Academy in 2020.
