Description
While many national curricula worldwide stipulate the development of language learner strategies (LLS), teachers often lack clear guidance on what LLS entail and how to teach them. This session aims to address these questions. I will start with a brief introduction about LLS, considering what constitutes a robust repertoire of LLS and why strategy instruction is important in language education. The session will then focus on exploring approaches, principles, and pedagogical considerations for integrating strategy instruction into language teaching.
