Population Health Informatics: Global Ethical ConsiderationsGuest lecture given as part of the Doctorate in Public Health programme. This was part of a group of lectures focused on the collection, management and use of electronic health data in public health programmes around the world. Dr Pagliari's talk examined the growth of population health data infrastructures, the vision for big data and learning health systems, and the growing presence of commercial technology companies in this ecosystem. As part of this she discussed a range of sociotechnical and ethical challenges, relating to different health systems, leadership and governance models, avoiding data exploitation and delivering sustainable services that meet local needs.
