Description
An intensive two day course which will teach full leather binding in the 18th Century style of bookbinding. You will make a leather bound book through a series of progressive steps designed to provide a good working knowledge of traditional bookbinding materials and techniques. Course focus on sewing a multi-sectioned book with raised cords, beating, end papers construction, edge trimming, lacing on boards. You will also learn leather working with a paring knife and spokeshave, and other preparation of leather to cover your book - this includes tool preparation and paring techniques and how to trim the leather accurately.
