Spark experts, Professor Patricia Waugh and Dr Simon Cooke, discussed Muriel Spark’s use of the voice in her writing, her technique of transfiguring the genres of detective and romance fiction to her own aesthetic ends, and her belief in ‘the arts of satire and ridicule’. Discussion chaired by Dr Colin McIlroy, the Muriel Spark archivist at the National Library of Scotland. Part of the Cuckfield Bookfest.
