Paper: "The role of philosophical approaches in the ‘kinaesthetic’ politics of dance research: Encounters of a non-metaphorical kind". In this presentation, the project City Glimpses (www.recalesce.net) will be discussed, in relation to the concept of ‘close sensing’, currently under development as informed by recent research in Architecture (Mark Dorrian) and Cultural Studies (Ella Chmielewska) and explorations of the role of ‘mood’ in the urban environment by cultural theorist Ben Highmore, who uses a Heideggerian perspective as a starting point.
