Description
CpG islands (CGI) are important genomic features not only found in housekeeping genes, but also in developmentally regulated genes. Here, we have analysed the genome-wide occupancy of both activating (TrxG) and repressive (PcG) complexes in the mammalian genome, and found that the presence of CGI is not exclusive to some complexes. Also, we have identified a novel transcription factor binding to the CGI of developmentally regulated gene and the role of this protein has been explored by functional studies.
