DescriptionThis presentation focused on the designer’s doctoral ethnographic research regarding the whistled language of the island of La Gomera. It was delivered during the online conference ‘Prototypes for Transmission’ organized by Constant, a non-profit association and interdisciplinary arts-lab based and active in Brussels since 1997. As a result of this presentation the designer was invited to collaborate with artist Wendy Van Wynsberghe on an interactive poster/ sound piece for the exhibition ‘The Social Contract’, as part of the Artifact Festival that will take place between the 14th and the 26th of February 2012, in the Stuk Kustencentre Leuven, in Belgium. This piece will integrate a collection entitled ‘Connection Protocols’ presented by Constant: Association for Art and Media during this same event. It is also relevant to mention that this exhibition will count with the participation of artists such as Pedro Reyes, the Artist Placement Group, Ariel Orozco, amongst others.
