Re-examining Global Ports - The MET workshop: ex airports as metropolitan commons

This workshop seeks to bring together three cities and three ex-airport sites in order to explore methodologies of horizontal collaboration and of conducting research on topics regarding metropolitan commons, governance and participatory design and peer to peer urbanism. We propose a parallel investigation of Mariscal Sucre in Quito, Ecuador, Tempelhof in Berlin, Germany and Ellinikon in Athens, Greece and development of strategic tools and an experimental participatory process of design of the three airports as urban commons.
