Professor Riddell has a long-standing specialism in ASN, including acting as an adviser to a previous parliamentary education committee in its scrutiny of this issue. Her submission is a copy of a briefing paper to LGiU Scotland focusing on local authority variation and impact of social background. Meanwhile, Riddell's comment was also picked up by the BBC news "Teacher told to 'watch Big Bang Theory' as Asperger's training" on the same day, followed by an article from The Times on the 2nd March 2017 "Dyslexia diagnosis helps wealthier pupils get ahead".
