Schools and Colleges project in connection with the 150th anniversary of the Indian Uprising of 1857The Schools and Colleges project aimed to create an international database of materials suitable for schools to access, and to encourage school projects relating to the Mutiny at the Margins theme by: 1. Posting information and images on the website for schools and colleges to access 2. Stimulating ideas for school micro-research projects by providing details of available records in archives, libraries, museums etc, and by offering examples of types of local memorials and activities connected to the mutiny. 3. Stimulating exchanges between schools and colleges in Britain and overseas on the subject of the mutiny. 4. Hosting a competition for the best project completed during the academic year 2008-9: for which two top prizes of £250 and four runner-up prizes of £50 will be awarded for the best contributions from Schools and Colleges participating within the UK, India, or other places of Indian settlement in the Commonwealth.
