Appointed a member of the Scottish Government's Independent Advisory Group on Stop and Search in May 2015 - Attended various meetings of the Independent Advisory Group on Stop and Search - presented evidence on the relationship between stop and search and ratees of crime in Scottish communities using data from the AQMeN CVS programme - McVie, S. - Mayto Sept 2015

The evidence presented to the Group and the ensuing work resulted in the cessation of non-statutory stop and search and the development of a Code of Practice for all stop and search in Scotland. Recommendation 5, to ensure Police Scotland publishes and makes available on a regular basis, data on stop and search was a direct result of AQMeN input to the Advisory Group.
