The local policing sandpit was hosted by Edinburgh Law School to bring together academics and practitioners from Police Scotland, the Scottish Police Authority and partner organisations to engage on emerging areas of research interest around local policing. The event was designed to stimulate conversations that could be developed into tangible research or knowledge exchange projects and The Scottish Institute of Policing Research are making £20k of Police Community Relations Collaborative Project funding available as a follow-up to the event.
